Fall FUN Day :)

Fall FUN Day was a success! We started our morning by making MONSTER SLIME! I did not buy enough glue for both classes :( We'll make that up next week! Then, the kids went to their Friday Clubs. When they came back, it was party time! We had hot dogs with chili and cheese, chips, cupcakes, cookies, and rice krispy treats! Everything was great! I made these for the party... not very cute or decorative, but I only had one leftover!

After lunch we hung out in our classroom, colored Halloween pictures, and watched Dr. Seuss' Halloween is Grinch Night. We had a little bit of recess fun... and it felt GREAT outside. We finished the day by watching Casper's Scare School and The Adventures of Figaro Pho AND watching our FRANKENWORMS come to life!

Oh yeah... and our fourth grade team were PANTHERS this year! Or cats... you know, whatever :P I stuck out like a sore thumb. The rest of my team wore their 4th grade shirts and black pants. I was the weirdo in a tutu that couldn't find her 4th grade shirt :( But my tutu was cute!

Hope everyone had a fun and safe HALLOWEEN! I fell asleep early :( Didn't even get to see any trick-or-treaters! This teaching thing is exhausting ;)

First Week... Too tired to speak!

I survived the first week of school. I am exhausted. I fell asleep as soon as I got home today. I even missed the football game. We played Anahuac High School... I graduated from that school... this was the only game I really wanted to attend... and I slept right through it :( This week was tiring. That is all.

It's the first of the month... or the third... whatever :P

Currently… I am being lazy. I’m a little late with this, but here it is :) It’s the beginning of the month, even if it is the third! You know what that means =)

LISTENING

On Friday night, I FINALLY got to see PARAMORE & FALL OUT BOY :) Ahh! It was SO good! I haven’t stopped listening to them since then. There’s this mash-up of Fall Out Boy’s “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)” and Paramore’s “Crush Crush Crush” that is pure magic. It is on repeat this morning =) And I may or may not have developed a slight "crush crush crush" on FOB's singer, Patrick ;) Shh! Don't tell!

LOVING

OMG. I am LOVING these foods right now! I go through food phases quite a bit, and this month it’s all about fruit & peanut butter. Oh so yummy! Especially FUJI apples... they are the BEST!

THINKING

I do not like my classroom layout. And that is all I can think about!!! Every year... I try and try... and I just do not like it. The furniture just does not fit the way I want it to. I need one of the awesome ladies of the bloggy land to hook me up! Their rooms look AMAZING! Mine stinks.

WANTING

I want to visit GALVESTON one more time before school starts. I want to ride the ferry, eat some good food, take a walk on the beach, and wonder in and out of shops on the Strand. Doesn't that sound like a fun day?!?

NEEDING

I need to get my classroom DONE. My goal is to have it ready by August 8^th so I can really focus on lesson planning. To accomplish this, I really need more laminating pouches. I created a few banners for my room yesterday... need to laminate them so I can finish that project asap!

1st DAY BACK

My first official day back is August 18th.
Parents may drop off supplies on August 22nd.
Kiddos will be back on August 25th.
It's all happening SO FAST :( :( :(

Little SLANTbox of SUNSHINE =)

Yep yep... guess what came in the mail today?!? My SLANTbox from this awesome girl named Kim! She's a third grade teacher and her boyfriend is a professional wrestler! How cool is that?!? Anyway... check out those goodies!

Flair pens, highlighters, post-its, pretty polka dot clipboard, sharpies, a weekly memo list... so much wonderfulness in a little box! And my personal favorites sunshine-filled tote bag and lotion! AHH! Could this be any more perfect! I have workshops for the rest of the week :( This has DEFINITELY lifted my spirits! THANK YOU SO MUCH, KIM!!!!

A birthday and a box!

Something interesting happened last week: I turned 30! OMG. Three-Zero. I am 30. I've been on earth for three decades. It's unreal. It feels weird to even say it. We celebrated by going to one of my most favorite places and doing one of my most favorite things - we went to the Weenie Roast at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion! Live music is my biggest love in life! I seriously love it with all my heart. Shout out to my cousin Mel Bell for the awesome idea! And, of course, here are some pics with my people :)

I also attended a gifted and talented workshop this past week. It wasn't that bad, but it also wasn't great :( After that, I met up with my big sis Karen for some dinner fun! I have not seen this wonderful lady in YEARS! We went to BAYLOR together and are part of the most AMAZING Asian-Interest Sorority ever, aKDPhi! She's a PA in ER at the Texas Children's Hospital. Yeah, she's basically my HERO :) Love her!

And, last but not least... I finally got my SLANT box in the mail today! I was paired up with an awesome first year teacher from HOUSTON. H-Town represent! Lol. I'm literally one hour from her. Teachers from coast to coast participate in this exchange... and I got paired up with a teacher I can drive to. Too funny. I hope she LOVES it!

Busy busy busy!

I feel like my summer is vanishing right before my eyes :( And I have not accomplished one single thing for my classroom! I need ink, cardstock, and laminating pouches like CRAZY, but I just cannot afford it right now. I bought my teacher toolbox a few weeks back and it's still sitting on my kitchen table. I have quite a few TPT purchases that have been sitting on my desktop for a while. Hopefully my finances straighten up so that I can buy all the things I need for school! Not everything has been terrible though... I did purchase 70 folders and 518 pencil cap erasers for dirt cheap! Thank you family and friends for your help in that matter ;)

Last night, I completed my first 5K... the Blacklight Run in Houston, TX. YAY! It was such a blast! Definitely want to do it again! We're thinking about doing the Mud Run in October... not sure if I can handle all the obstacles though :/

This is my cousin Melanie and I before the race! Yep... we bought matching shirts :) If you look closely, you can see my crazy skin. I got a bad sunburn... and it's peeling like crazy. So GROSS! And yes, in case you were wondering... I did wear my sunglasses at night ;)

Our awesome group! We were celebrating our friend Shelly's birthday. She is the life skills teacher on my campus and is AMAZING! She is such a sweet girl and deserves all the best that life has to offer! After the race, we went to the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate our success and her big day :) Every birthday girl needs some dessert!

I have a busy week ahead of me. Tomorrow, I have Jury Duty :( On Tuesday, I have a GT training in Pearland. On Wednesday, I am meeting up with a few of my sorority sisters for dinner! On Thursday, I am taking my little sister to an acoustic performance by one of my most favorite vocalists, Craig Owens :D And, on Friday... I think I'll sleep :)

My first CURRENTLY... Hello JULY :)

Linking up with the fabulous FARLEY for this July's Currently! This is my first time to EVER do this. First time for everything right ;) I have been a fan of this blog FOREVER! So... here goes it!

Since I'm new here, we should probably get acquainted... I'll explain these in more detail:)

Listening - to Motionless in White's new song "Reincarnate" on REPEAT! Loving this band right now. I don't suggest looking them up though... they're not exactly school friendly :( Seriously... just don't do it! Unless you're into that heavy stuffs :P

Loving - our school's bookmobile <3 I donate an hour every Tuesday & Thursday to this cause :D We have a school bus FULL of books that we check out to kids all over our community. No library card needed. No fines. And the reading continues through the summer! I'm loving it!

Thinking - This blog is new... uhh yeah! I want it to be amazing and awesome and fabulous... just like all the blogs I adore. But where do I start? What do I do? I don't create my own materials... so what do I have to share? So many things going through my head!

Wanting - Summer needs to SLOW down. Hello, it's JULY! School starts in AUGUST! One month! AHH! Make it stop!

Needing - Ink, cardstock, and laminating pouches... yes! I desperately need to get started on new stations. They're not going to make themselves :(

4th Plans - We're going to our town's 4th of July celebration in the city park. They do a firework display each year. Other than that... I'll just be spending time with my oh so little family :) Oh yeah... my aunt is getting married in VEGAS on the fourth! So HAPPY for her but so SAD I couldn't be there!
